23 November 2016, Hong Kong: An Announcement Press Conference was organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (Federation) at Olympic House today to publicize the details of the Samsung 2016 Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards (Awards). Mr. Raymond LAM, Head of Retail Marketing/Associate Director of Retail Marketing Group, Samsung Electronics H.K. Company, Limited, Title Sponsor of the Awards, Ms. Vivien LAU, BBS, JP, Chairperson of Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards Organizing Committee cum Vice President of the Federation, Mr. PUI Kwan Kay, SBS, and Mr. Herman HU, BBS, JP, Vice-Presidents of the Federation and Mr. Kelvin LEUNG, Chief Leisure Manager (Sports Funding) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department were the officiating VIPs at the Press Conference.
Past awardees of Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards were present at the event including Mr. CHEUNG Ka Long (Fencing), Mr. LAM Ka Wai (Football), Mr. LEUNG Chun Pong (Football), Miss TSANG Yee Ting (Karatedo), Miss Stephanie AU Hoi Shun (Swimming), Miss LEE Ho Ching (Table Tennis) and Mr. MAK Cheuk Yin (Tenpin Bowling) signifying their strong support to the event.
In her opening speech, Ms. LAU conveyed her special thanks to Samsung Electronics H.K. Company, Limited for being the Title Sponsor of the Awards again. She also urged the National Sports Associations (NSAs) to nominate their best athletes to support the event. Officiating VIPs accompanied by the attending athletes, unveiled the important dates of the Awards:

Public Voting Period : 15 January 2017 – 10 February 2017
Awards Presentation Ceremony : 21 March 2017
The results of the Awards will be announced in the Awards Presentation Ceremony cum Annual Dinner of the Federation on Tuesday, 21 March 2017 at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
